Subscription Plans And Billing

Subscription and Billing explains what each AppTego plan includes, which limits apply by default, how trials work, and what happens when a subscription changes.

AppTego has three public plan tiers: Free, Team, and Enterprise. All plans can create protected builds in Standard Mode. SDK Library Mode, also known as Custom Library or BYOA integration, is available only on Enterprise.

Controls are gated by the plan assigned to the tenant at the time configuration and build actions are performed. Many controls are build-time protections, so enabling a newly available control usually requires creating a new protected build before the app contains that protection.

Trials

Team and Enterprise trials are configured per tenant. While a trial is active, the tenant temporarily receives the trial tier's feature access. A trial does not replace a paid subscription; if a paid subscription is active, paid access remains the source of truth after the trial period.

When a trial expires, the tenant returns to its paid base plan or to Free if no paid plan is active. Features above the active plan become unavailable for new edits and builds, and new protected builds can only use controls available on the active plan. If the tenant becomes Free, paid-tier data is retained for the 30-day grace period described below.

Billing And Plan Changes

Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. AppTego supports monthly and yearly billing for customer subscriptions, with daily billing available only for internal testing. Yearly subscriptions are branded with a 15% discount. AppTego uses the active Stripe subscription or Enterprise contract state to determine paid access.

In Settings, tenants can use Change Plan or Upgrade to view available plans. If pricing has been assigned to the tenant, accepting the subscription terms opens Stripe checkout for Team or Enterprise. If pricing is not assigned, the plan card shows Contact Us so AppTego can set up pricing or a contract first.

Paid tenants see billing actions in Settings. Manage Billing opens the Stripe billing portal for payment method and subscription management, Invoices lists available Stripe invoices, and Cancel schedules cancellation. Cancellation keeps the subscription active until the end of the current billing period.

Plan increases become available after checkout and payment confirmation. Plan changes that are not available in the portal should be handled through the billing portal or AppTego support, especially when an Enterprise contract or custom pricing is involved.

After A Plan Ends Or Drops

EventWhat happens
Paid subscription is cancelledPaid access continues until the current billing period ends. After Stripe reports the subscription as inactive, the tenant is moved to Free unless another paid entitlement applies.
Trial expiresThe tenant returns to its paid base plan or Free. Higher-tier features are no longer available for new edits or builds.
Tenant becomes FreeAppTego keeps paid-tier data for 30 days. If the tenant remains Free beyond that grace period, paid-tier records are cleaned up.
Existing protected appsAlready built binaries are not rebuilt or changed automatically. Build-time protections remain as they were in that binary, while tenant-hosted Enterprise services such as live configuration, device logs, and app integrity require active Enterprise access.

The Free-tier cleanup removes paid-tier records such as device configurations, application and build records, signing material, Custom Library data, app integrity configuration, custom messages, automation keys, and SAML configuration. It does not delete the tenant account itself.

Before cancelling or allowing a trial to expire, retrieve any logs, invoices, compliance evidence, signing material references, or configuration records that your organization needs outside AppTego's retention window.

Custom Limits

Some tenants have custom limits attached to their subscription or contract. Custom values can adjust protected builds per week, concurrent builds, application allowance, Tego Assistant message allowance, daily audit log writes, and daily device registrations.

Use AppTego support or your account contact to request a limit change. Custom limits override the defaults shown on this page when they are configured for the tenant.
